Transfer Opportunities

Herkimer County Community College’s Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degree programs prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

The Transfer Process

Careful planning for a smooth transfer involves advising, career counseling and financial planning. Herkimer’s transfer counselor can assist you with this process, and it is recommended that you begin transfer planning as early as the first semester.

HCCC holds an annual Transfer College Day, when representatives from four-year institutions distribute information and answer questions for potential transfer students. College representatives also make individual visits throughout the year to meet with students one-on-one.

Our graduates have successfully used HCCC as a stepping stone to transfer to prestigious private and public colleges and universities including Cornell University, Hamilton College, Ithaca College, Clarkson University, Northeastern University, Utica College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, The College of Saint Rose and every four year college in the State University of New York system.

HCCC also maintains approximately 30 different transfer articulation agreements with public and private colleges, giving you a rock solid foundation to continue your education.

An articulation or transfer agreement is a document that outlines specific requirements needed to transfer from a two-year college to a specific four-year college or university.  Generally, these agreements insure transfer with junior status for HCCC graduates.

I look forward to welcoming you to Herkimer County Community College.
