Orientation Schedule

In order to be considered for admission to Herkimer County Community College as an International - Nonimmigrant Student (F1 Visa), please download the admission check lists and follow the steps below:

  1. Submit our complete college online application form or download and print the application form and mail it back to the following address. There is no application fee.
  2. Submit the official high school/secondary school transcript and diploma. We do not accept photocopy or fax transcript and diploma.
  3. Provide proof of immunization as required by New York State Health Law. 
  4. Complete and sign the International Student Declaration of Finances. In order to complete the application and receive the necessary immigration forms to obtain a student visa, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to pay for tuition and living expenses at Herkimer County Community College.
  5. You must also provide an original bank letter or statement prepared within the last six months to demonstrate that you have adequate financial support to complete your program of study. We do not accept photocopy or fax bank statement.
  6. All international students are required to purchase HCCC Student Health Insurance before registration. Please contact the Office of International Programs for more information.
  7. TOEFL is not required for admission to HCCC, but all international students are required to take our college placement test when they arrive on campus. Based upon the results of this test, a student may be required to register for ESL classes at HCCC. Students who score well on the placement test will be permitted to register for a full course load. A full course of study at Herkimer County Community College is 12 hours. All students must register for a full course load.
