Open House Presentation 11/4/06
Welcome to the Herkimer County Community College Library
The Library is full-service, yet provides a comfortable place to read, do research, and study. The Library has more than 70,000 books, which can be accessed through an online catalog, and approximately 300 periodical subscriptions. A variety of online reference databases are available as well as World Wide Web access to resources on the Internet. Computerized access and reciprocal agreements also allow the HCCC Library to borrow needed materials from other libraries for students. These agreements help to expand the quality and quantity of information available to students.
Librarians are available to assist students and faculty most hours the
Library is open. Their primary function is to assist and teach users how
to navigate the often-complex world of information. They also provide
introductions to Library resources through
scheduled tours, workshops, courses, and one-on-one instruction.
The Library is located in the Library Building. During the Spring and Fall semesters, it is open Sunday through Friday.

An integral part of the instructional program at Herkimer County Community
College, the Library combines traditional library and electronic resources
to support the search for information and intellectual development. Library
doors are also open to visitors and community members. In order to borrow
materials from the Library, these users must obtain a special ID Card
at the Circulation Desk. There are quiet and group study areas in the
Library.
We hope you enjoy using the Library and our site.
