EBSCO ANIMALS Provides information relating to the nature and habitat of animals.

EBSCO GENERAL SCIENCE COLLECTION (1992 – present). Provides full-text coverage for more than 60 of the most popular science publications.

INFOTRAC ONEFILE (1980 – present). Contains articles on general, business, health, education, science, and multicultural topics.

SCIENCEDIRECT (Articles can date back to the mid-1900s – present). Offers access to over 1200 titles, with a large full-text collection and coverage of all fields of science.

WILSON SELECT (1994 – present). A FirstSearch database with many full-text articles on science.

Magill's Encyclopedia of Science: Animal Life. Ref.QL7.M34 2002. Four volume set of general information about botany and related sciences.

Magill's encyclopedia of science: Plant Life. Ref.QK7.M34 2003. Four volume set concentrating on science in its discussion of nonhumans in the kingdom of Animalia.

McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology. Ref.Q121 .M3 2002. Multivolume set offering comprehensive information in all areas of science and engineering.

World of Genetics. Ref. QH427 .W67 2001. Two volume set on the study of heredity, from biographies to current research.

 

INTERNET RESOURCES

National Science Foundation. General science information related to work done in the U.S.

Scirus. Scirus is a science-specific search engine.

The National Academy of Sciences. Reports on scientific & engineering research & their use for the general welfare.

Smithsonian National Zoological Park. The National Zoological Park is a part of the Smithsonian Institution, and this site is dedicated to the study and protection of wild animals and their habitats.

Chemistry: WebElements Periodic Table. Information related to the periodic table of elements.

The Internet Public Library. This site has information on the natural and physical sciences and their practical applications, and also plenty of links to other general science websites.

Biology Online. This site is a good source of biological information and includes a forum, a dictionary, tutorials, and links to other biology sources on the web.
