What if the Library doesn’t have a book or article I need?
The Library has a service called Interlibrary Loan so that books or articles can be borrowed from other Libraries for HCCC students. ILLiad is the software we use to keep track of all of these loans. If you are in a databases of books such as WorldCat or the SUNY Union Catalog you can click the link to “Search for Full Text/Find Copy” or “Request Item” once you find the book you need. If you are in a database for articles such as Academic Search Complete you can click on the link to “Search for Full Text” to find the article in one of our other databases, or “Submit Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) Request”.
You will need to fill out your contact information in ILLiad the first time you use the system. After that you will only fill in your campus username and password to access the Interlibrary loan system. This system will keep you updated with email messages about your requests.
