Artistic Discovery Awards Ceremony

Herkimer County Community College is exhibiting student work from the 31st annual Artistic Discovery Congressional Art Show, sponsored by the office of Congressman Richard L. Hanna (R), representing the 24th Congressional District. The reception and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, March 28 from 6-8 p.m. in the Cogar Gallery, located in the McLaughlin College Center.
High school students from Herkimer County schools entered artwork, which is on exhibit in HCCC’s Cogar Gallery through March 28, 2013. The Cogar Gallery is open to the public free of charge,
8 am - 5pm Monday through Friday when the College is open.
The six winners of this local exhibit will be in the regional competition at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute/Pratt School of Art in May. The first place winner in the regional competition will have their artwork exhibited in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. for one year.
HCCC Associate Professor of Fine Arts J. Bruce Schwabach said, “HCCC thanks all of the local art teachers, and especially the young artists, for creating things of beauty and skill that can enhance our lives.”
