Herkimer Volleyball
Assistant Coach: Jessica Lynch-Kucel
Jessica Lynch-Kucel recently began serving as an assistant coach for Herkimer County Community College’s volleyball team. She also is a volleyball official for Section II and III, a second-year returning coach for the Caroga Lake Volleyball Club (under the direction of Jim Gabeler), and a fourth-year coach for the junior level at Oppenheim Ephratah.
Lynch-Kucel is the founder and director of Gateway Volleyball Alliance, a non-profit sports organization which was established in spring 2007. Gateway was created as a means to provide financial assistance to promising young athletes in the local area. Since 2000, Lynch-Kucel has been actively involved on several fundraising committees, program development and grant writing.
Lynch-Kucel is a 1997 graduate of HCCC (A.S. in Liberal Arts) and a 1999 graduate of Hartwick College (B.A. in English). She resides in Oppenhiem with her husband Ron and son Liam. They are expecting a second child in September 2007.
