Cobleskill Invitational - January 17th, 2004
The HCCC women's swim team finished in 2nd place at the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational, trailing only Genesee Community College. The men's team, despite having only 1 available swimmer, finished 6th out of 7 teams as Matt Hoffman accounted for 21 points.
SUNY Delhi - January 24th, 2004
Nicole Christman set 2 personal bests with a 27:94 in the 50 free and 1:02.94 in the 100 free. The women placed 5th out of 9 teams, registering 78 points. Meghan McKeon earned a 5th place finish in the 100 breast stroke, while on the men's side Matt Hoffman continued his one man show, earning 7 points as HCCC finished 8th out of 9 schools. Hoffman finished 7th in the 1 meter dive and 13th 100 free.
Mt. Valley Conference Championship - February 7th, 2004
The Lady Generals took home 2nd place at the 2004 Mountain Valley Conference Championship, falling to SUNY Cobleskill by 7 points. HCCC captured 7 of 13 events, but the depth of the Tigers was too much for the Lady Generals to overcome. Kayla Francis was voted Swimmer of the Meet, winning all 4 events she entered, including a 1:11.44 in the 100 back stroke, which is the second fastest time in the region this season. Nicole Christman also captured 4 events, including the 100 free and 50 free. Nancy Tremblay was crowned conference champion in the 1 meter dive. The men's team finished in 4th place, earning 8 points, behind the efforts of Matt Hoffman.
Regional Meet- February 13-15, 2004
Kayla Francis advanced to the finals in 4 events and Nicole Christman advanced in 2 to lead the HCCC Lady Generals at the Region III Championships at Monroe Community College. Kayla took 4th in the 200IM, 4th in the 200 backstroke and 5th in the 100 backstroke. Nicole placed 5th in the 50 freestyle. |
