5/6/05 Softball Sweeps Tompkins-Cortland

The Women's Softball team beat TC3 by scores of 2-0 and 4-3 to end their regular season with a 19-7 record. In game one Renee Willey improved her record on the mound to (11-4) as she pitched the shut out allowing only 3 hits. Randi Gordon had a double for HCCC. In the second game Nicole Arena improved her record to (8-4)by allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Amie Chase had 3 hits as did Heidi Quay. Randy Gordon had 2 hits for HCCC.

4/29/05 Softball Sweeps SUNY Cobleskill

Herkimer completed a sweep of SUNY Cobleskill on Friday by scores of 11-3 and 7-5. Renee Willey picked up both wins to improve her record to 10-4.

4/27/05 Softball Wins Two Over Jefferson

The Lady Generals scored 14 runs in the third innings of game one on route to a 17-2 victory. Kelly Young and Mel Wilson went 3-4 in game 1. The bats stayed hot for the Lady Generals in game 2 as Herkimer opened up the first inning with 6 runs on their way to a 12-2 victory and a sweep of Jefferson. Herkimer improves to 13-7 overall on the season.

4/19/05 Softball Drops Two

Broome completed a sweep in softball yesterday as Herkimer fell short 1-11 in game one and 3-11 in game two. Herkimer falls to 11-7 on the season.

4/17/05 Softball Sweeps Suny Delhi

HCCC compiled 15 runs on 17 hits led by Jen Rockhills 5 hits in game 1 to defeat the Broncos 15-1. Renee Willey got the win for Herkimer. In the second game Amie Chase was 2 for 3 and Nicole Arena got the 8-4 victory. The sweep moves the Lady Generals to 11-5. HCCC will host Broome CC. on 4/19/05 at 2pm.

 

4/16/05 Softball splits with Genesee C.C.

HCCC softball lost the first game 6-0, but fought back to win the second 7-5 over Genesse CC. The split moved the Generals record to 9-5 in the region and overall. In the second game the Lady Generals were led by Amie Chase's 2 for 3 with a double. Randie Gordon was 2 for 4 with a 3 run Home Run. Mel Wilson and Jen Rockhill also Chipped in with 2 hits.

 

Herkimer Softball Goes 2-2 on the Weekend

4/10/05- Herkimer 4,17 - Alfred State 2,9

Jen Rockhill went 3 for 4 to lead Herkimer to the 4-2 victory over Alfred State in game one. Herkimer exploded for 17 runs in game two to lead Herkimer to a 17-9 victory. Mel Wilson went 4 for 5 in game two.

4/9/05- Herkimer 1,4 - Hudson Valley 6,5

In game one Herkimer struck first leading 1-0 after the first inning, but Hudson Valley scored 2 in the second, 2 in the third, 1 in the fourth, and finally 1 in the seventh to take the 6-1 victory over Herkimer. In game two Herkimer led 4-3 going into the top of the seventh when Hudson Valley scored 2 runs topping the Generals 5-4.

Women's Softball takes two from Adirondack CC

The Women's Softball team beat Adirondack last night by scores of 11-2 and 14-0. Kelly Young led the way with 6 hits, including two doubles, a triple and drove in 4 runs. Randi Gordon had three doubles and as single and 6 RBI's in the sweep.

HCCC Softball Wins Opening Doubleheader over Fulton-Montgomery
Catcher Melanie Wilson had six hits in eight bats as Herkimer County Community College opened it's season with a doubleheader sweep. Jen Rockhill had five hits and Kelly Young added four for the Generals.

Chase earns All-American Accolades

Freshman Amie Chase became only the second HCCC women's softball player to earn All-American status, (Arity Buckley 2002), as she was named to the 2nd Team for her performance during the 2004 season. Chase batted a league best .604 and guided HCCC to a 24-5 overall record.

Chase named 1st Team All-Conference

Freshman outfielder Amie Chase was selected to the Mountain Valley Conference All-Star team, after leading the Lady Generals to a 13-1 conference record and a share of the league crown. A freshman from Malone, NY, Chase finished the 2004 season with a .604 batting average.

Chase, Rockhill, Sweeney honored

Freshman Amie Chase was named First Team All Region by the Region III coaches, while Jenn Rockhill and Mary Sweeney were each named to the Second Team. The Lady Generals finished 24-5 and qualified for the Region III playoffs.

Chase finishes season as Region's top hitter

Freshman Amie Chase finished the 2004 regular season with the top batting average in Region III, hitting .597. A native of Malone, NY, Chase helped the Lady Generals to a 24-4 regular season and the Mt. Valley Conference Championship.
