Head Coach: John Campagna

John Campagna is entering his 19th year as head coach of the women’s basketball team. The Lady Generals have enjoyed much success under the leadership of Coach Campagna winning over 350 games. His teams have been successful off the court as well, with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher for the past 13 years. Since 1992, 88 percent of the women’s basketball players have graduated or successfully transferred to four year institutions.

Campagna works in the Athletic Department as a student athlete specialist and is responsible for tracking and monitoring student athlete academic success. He developed a system which allows communication between teaching faculty, coaches and athletes throughout the academic year. HCCC has earned a prestigious record of 26 Academic Team of The Year awards and has had over 150 players named Academic All-Americans in a variety of sports since 1991.
Coach Campagna’s career highlights include:

• Four-time Region III, Division III Coach of The Year
• Two Region III, Division III Championships
• Two-time District IV Coach of The Year
• Basketball Coaches Association of New York Coach (BCANY) Coach of The Year
• 66 consecutive conference game win streak 1993-97
• Five Mountain Valley Conference titles
• Two National Championship tournament appearances
• Four Region III Players of The Year
• Six All-Americans since 1992

Campagna resides in Herkimer with his wife, Tracey, and daughter and son.
